2011-12 Greatest Hits

We're proud to share with you some of the PTA's accomplishments from the past school year. With the help of Mrs. Lavery's school budget, a Refresh Grant and support from our parents and community, we made purchases recommended by our school Technology Committee:

an interactive (SMART) board for EVERY kindergarten and first grade class,
a document camera and projector for EVERY classroom;
EVERY teacher now has a laptop,
23 sets of speakers to replace old ones for computers,
12 “mini” laptops for the media center,
6 iPod touches,
THREE iPad labs, each of which includes TEN iPads and a MAC laptop.

We also funded and supported:

four wonderful Cultural Arts Programs for the students and staff,
Teacher Grants totaling over $6,000,
snack, treats and luncheons for staff throughout the year,
dictionaries for third grade students with support from the Kiwanis Club of Apex,
school-wide Character Education programs,
school subscriptions to Brain Pop and Brain Pop Jr for all grades.

PTA News: Welcome to the 2012-13 school year!

A Message from the President, Leah DeLitizia

The PTA Board would like to welcome students, families, faculty and staff to the 2012-2013 school year. We are looking forward to a great year with returning PTA members and new members. Our purpose once again for this school year is to support our dependable and very hardworking faculty. We hope to provide many opportunities for you as family members to become involved in our school.

Our General Meetings, during which we briefly conduct PTA business with our membership, will kick off at Open House (Tracks 1 and 3 on July 25; Tracks 2 and 4 on August 15th). We hope you will attend. We also invite parents to attend our monthly board meetings, which take place on the third Thursday of each month at 1 p.m.

In the 2011-12 school year, our PTA, along with help from Mrs. Lavery’s budget, made some great purchases for our school, including 23 sets of speakers to replace old ones, new Smart Boards for all Kindergarten and 1st grade classrooms, laptops for all teachers, 12 mini laptops and 6 iPod touches for the media center and three iPad learning labs which include 10 iPads and a Mac laptop, along with other initiatives.
